Dream Job

If you could have your dream job, what would it be? Anything at all…

Personally, if I could, I would give anything to backpack and write for a living. I mean, who wouldn’t love to get paid for doing what you already do?

I have found so much joy in sharing my stories and experiences with you all. I’ve had the amazing opportunity to connect with individuals around the world who love hiking as much as I do. Every day I look forward to writing and anticipating how many people I will reach and connect with. I love reading your comments and your own experiences. It’s been wonderful so far, thank you all so much for reading my blog and making me work harder to fulfill my dream. I’m doing everything I can to make it more of a reality, even as a side job.

In the mean time I think I’d really like to be a backpacking guide or a wilderness therapy guide. Who knows what the future will bring….

I found this great article on The Clymb (great website for outdoor gear): 5 Unique Outdoor Jobs

So tell me… If you could have your dream job, what would you do?

  1. Hey! I’d love that job too and its very possible and real! I’m really enjoying your blog so you know! But anyways its possible to backpack and travel the world! Wanna talk more about it? You seem great, I love this adventure talk!!

    • I think there’s quite a few of us who would like that job! Thank you! I’m glad you’ve been reading! It’s awesome to connect! I’m always up for talk about adventures and traveling. I nerd out on it regularly.

      • Sweet! Me too, I love nerding out on that type of stuff! So what is the best way to contact you? on comments? email? text or what? It’d be sweet to talk more in depth adventures with you!

      • I’m pretty sure I bore most of my friends with this stuff. I don’t realize that I’ve been going on and on about it! I’ve got your email so I’ll send you one later today

      • Oh trust me, I’m the same way! They either think it’s boring/that I’m crazy! lol a lot of my friends never in a million years would do this type of hiking/backpacking stuff that I want to do/have done before. I just am a person that loves the outdoors and am not big on just sitting inside all day watching TV or stuff like that. But okay sounds good, I can’t wait to hear from you!

  2. It is not as hard as you might imagine to break into the writing bit. I started writing as a hobby making contributions on Summitpost.org (if you have not been on that site, check it out). That eventually led to me starting my own site, again as a hobby. I was approached by a large publisher to turn it into a guidebook, which led to contracts for more books. I have two coming out and a third in the works!

If you want pointers on ways to step out and try to make it happen, feel free to ask.

  3. Being a travel blogger would be the ultimate dream job, and I’m sure your blog will grow in the up coming months. Love your writing. Happy blogging and working toward the dream!

  4. Go for what your heart desires, you could find it someday! My dream job was always to work for the National Parks or Forest Service. It took a while to get in, but I now work for the Forest Service and may soon be landing a job with the National Parks. I’d actually get to be outdoors in the park every day, I would love that so much! A dream job may seem like a huge goal but if you want it bad enough and put in the hard work, it could be yours someday.

  5. In the middle of reading the many books I have concerning photography and posting a blog here and there, I am contemplating putting a book together about my travels. Like you, I too have a strong desire to hike, travel, photograph and discover the world! Of course getting funded would make my life complete!
